Stage 1.08 Virklund - Nørre Snede

Buses run from Virklund to Silkeborg and Nørre Snede. There is also a pizzeria and a bakery there.

This stage follows a bike path along a disused railway line for quite a while. At the start, it goes through the woods; later, it’s just a dead straight stretch through the fields and gets a bit monotonous. The path is paved, but there’s also a small strip of grass where it’s easier to walk. In Them, you can take a short detour to a supermarket. After that, the route continues in a straight line until just before Vrads, where the landscape becomes more varied with small hills, woods, and streams. The E1 then turns right and follows the Heerweg through a beautiful heathland with some sand dunes. The route continues through a lot of woods until Nørre Snede. However, the E1 does not go directly through the city center but takes a wide detour around the town.

If you want to take the bus to Vejle, instead of walking to Nørre Snede, you can follow the E1 for about 4 kilometers to the Vejlevej/Nortigvej intersection, where there is a bus stop.
