Stage description

A stage with plenty of forest and only a few scenic overlooks.

From Alexanderschanze, the trail first curves eastward away from the road. Once back on the road, it continues along the “Neuer Höhenweg.” This trail leads to a beautiful viewpoint above Bad Griesbach. Then it soon turns left and then right again along footpaths to the Hildahütte. With a slight incline, the trail continues through the forest over the barely noticeable Lettstädter Höhe and then, following well-marked turns, leads to a rest bench above Glaswaldsee. After a short stretch on narrow paths, the trail descends along forest roads to the road at the Freiersberger Hütte. Before reaching it, you can take a detour to the Klagstein, an impressive rock formation.

From the Freiersberger Hut, the trail climbs steadily along a forest road to the Lettweger Höhe, where there is a mountain hut. From there, the trail continues along a high-altitude path and eventually follows a narrower trail to the Hark.
