This is another stage through the northern Black Forest, where the route winds through the woods for the most part and views are few and far between.
From Hark, the trail climbs gently along forest paths to the Kreuzsattelhütte, which has a playground. Continue along a short stretch of paved road, then alternate between wider and narrower paths, mostly bypassing the highest points and wind turbines as you make a fairly long trek through the forest to the Hohenlochenhütte. From the hut, there’s a beautiful view to the west. Then the trail descends steeply for a short while. After that, the trail takes a detour to the west before the landscape opens up a bit and you pass an antenna array to reach the Spitzfelsen. From there, follow paths and wider trails down a relatively steep descent to Hausach.
After this not-too-long stage, it’s worth visiting the Black Forest Open-Air Museum in Gutach. It’s a 2-minute train ride from the Hausach station or about a 2-kilometer walk.
