A long and grueling stage.
From Hausach, the trail first climbs up to Husen Castle. It then continues uphill, mostly along forest roads, with occasional narrower paths through the woods, until reaching the meadows in the upper Breitenbach Valley. The trail then heads back through the woods, climbing quite steeply in places, up to the Farrenkopf. The route continues slightly downhill over the Schorenkopf to Buchereck. There are significantly more viewpoints than north of Hausach.
The route follows various marked hiking and forest trails, with gentle ups and downs to the Huberfelsen and then a steeper climb to the Karlstein. From there, it’s a few minutes’ descent to the Hotel Schöne Aussicht, a great spot for a coffee break. The trail then runs parallel to the access road through the forest, but also follows the road on a fairly level stretch past the houses of Rensberg. Continue away from the road again across highlands, past the entrance to the former Herrenwälderhof, and along a forest road to the Haus am Silberberg. There, turn left and head up a fairly steep slope, then follow a wide dirt path straight ahead to Wilhelmshöhe.
