Stage description

In Rellingen, you have to cross the motorway, but shortly afterwards the path veers off again and winds its way through a lovely park-like landscape. The next village is Waldenau, after which you reach the Schnaakenmoor, which is popular with day-trippers and offers plenty of places to stop for refreshments. From there, it’s not far to Hamburg-Sülldorf, where there is an S-Bahn station. The route through the Marienhöhe to the Elbe is surprisingly hilly and takes you through a bit of woodland. Once you reach the Elbe, the path does not run directly along the bank but slightly above it, all the way to the Blankenese jetty. However, there is no longer a ferry service from there – see comments.
