Stage description

From Fuchskaute, the trail descends gently, passing through Bretthausen and Salzburg on the way to Hof, where there is a bakery with a café. The trail then follows the road for a while before turning left into the forest and continuing to Nisterau. Through the deeply carved Nister Valley and past several beautiful ponds, you reach Bad Marienberg. The E1 does not pass through the center there, but rather runs northeast of it.
