Stage description
On the opposite side of the Albergo, the GEA continues along the edge of the forest and across meadows. As soon as the 00 branches off, the GEA follows a path downhill to reach Osteto in a valley. The route continues along a small road to Badia di Moscheta, where there is accommodation with a restaurant. It continues past the restaurant, following the track until a bridge is reached. Here, the path follows the stream along a narrow track through the Val d’Inferno. At Lastra, the route continues along the Torrente Rovigo through the Val Cavaliera.
Alternatively, you can follow the GEA (marked in blue on the map). The two paths meet again at Poggio dell’Altello. After a while, a path branches off to the right, following the markings; you then follow this path along a ridge for a long stretch until you reach Casaglia. If you are heading for Crespino, you should turn off the GEA to the left beforehand, following a signpost.
In Casaglia, you can stay overnight in the village’s former school for €10 per person, including use of the kitchen and shower. You can collect the key from the bar, which also serves as a grocery shop and is open from 7 am to 6 pm.
