Stage description

From the Passo della Futa, the trail initially follows the road towards Florence for a short distance downhill. At the second road turning left, the 00 trail heads into the forest. This is followed by a lovely ridge walk through beech woodland, although parts of the ridge were treeless, offering magnificent views. At the Passo del Giogo there is a hotel and a restaurant. Just below the pass, heading towards Firenzuola, there is an affordable mountain refuge.
