Stage description

This beautiful but long stage is characterised by numerous climbs and a challenging route.

At the entrance to Barbagelata, the path initially descends steadily until it meets a road. Here we turn right and follow the road for about 200 metres to Passo della Scoglina.

The route now continues along a narrow path through the forest, with some steep ascents and descents. In some places, sure-footedness is required. Further on, there are several options to shorten the stage and descend towards Cabanne or Rifugio Ventarola (the path from Bocca Di Feia down to Ventarola is very beautiful). The E1/Alta Via continues in an arc over Monte Ramaceto (1,345 m).

At the end of the stage, at the Passo della Forcella, buses run regularly down into the valley until after 7.00 pm; in Cabanne, for example, there is a hotel and a B&B.
