Stage description

At the restaurant, turn left onto a paved path which is even marked with an E1 sign – clearly put up by the German scout group. From here, the markings were much better, although they were often not particularly clear at key points. With the markings and a map, it is fairly easy to find your way to Bagnara. After Bagnara, follow the tarmac road for a while until you eventually turn left onto a path. Here, follow the markings until you come back onto a road. Turn right here towards Colle Croce.

Turn left there and follow the road to Annifo. Just past the village, take the path up to the right – though we actually followed the road all the way to Annifo. The signposting was clear enough through the village, but after that we got lost again and had to improvise our way to Colfiorito, where there are several hotels.
