05.06 Val di Ranco - Valsorda

The stage begins by following the ridge path past the radio installations; this path can be followed by sight without any markings until you reach Passo Chiaramonte. Here, head slightly to the left and follow the marked path uphill through beech woods. As you leave the woods, continue slightly to the right and uphill until you come to another unmarked path. Follow this path for some time until you reach Valico di Fossato. 

Follow the path opposite and turn left immediately. The route climbs initially, then remains mostly flat until you reach a clearing. At the first junction, follow a path to the right until you come to a tarmac track leading to an old refuge. Continue along the path until you reach a tarmac road. Follow this road uphill to the left until a path branches off to the right in a left-hand bend. Follow this path to the top of the pass. Here, turn right first, then left again and head steeply uphill. Keep following the path until you enter a wood. You will remain at roughly the same altitude on the mountain.

Finally, the route takes you along paths to Valsorda, where you should arrive early, as the restaurant that hands out the key to the refuge closes early
