It’s easy and quick to walk on the gravel roads all the way to Flötningen. That’s actually quite nice.
In Flötningen, you'll find the Gransbua supermarket, which likely thrives on cross-border traffic with Norway. Hikers will be happy to know that it has just about everything: plenty of chocolate, sandwiches to bake, ice cream, and so on. Unfortunately, there's no trail food.
The Drevfjällens Nature Reserve begins here, and the gravel road gives way to narrow hiking trails. The trail winds through a stunted forest with fairly tall trees; below 800 meters in elevation, the trees have even more vigor to grow than they do further up the mountain.
The trail is in pretty poor condition and is poorly marked. There are a few marshy areas without boardwalks. Your boots might get soaked here if it has rained heavily beforehand.
There is an old alpine dairy at Busjön – just before the mountain hut.
