Stage description
From the new Bastingamme, you first have to cross the Leaktojavri River again to reach the E1. On the west bank, you can take a shortcut along the reindeer fence and join the E1 that way.
The trail then turns right and leads through a gate. It continues partly along a trail and partly off the beaten path through sparse forest, rocky terrain, and marshy areas until it reaches the Navgastatjohka River. When the water level is low enough, the river can be crossed on rocks near the island.
Then head uphill into treeless terrain. The trail marker is unclear at a reindeer fence. You can reach the Bohkosgielas hill by going straight ahead or turning right along the fence. From there, follow a faint trail down to the lake’s outlet (camping available).
Beyond that, over another hill to the two outlets of Rukkujavri (camping available).
