There is an E1 signpost near the Hattir huts, and the trail climbs steeply at first along a vehicle road. It soon levels off, and after the last huts, the trail conditions deteriorate. The path climbs steeply to a fork above Lake Franssajavrit. There you’ll find the last E1 signpost for many kilometers; follow the path to the right along the lake. Then through a valley with birch forest and marshy areas; eventually, cross to the other side of the stream and climb over rocky terrain. A sturdy reindeer fence without a gate must be crossed near a lake on the Beg. Then the trail descends again and passes through damp depressions until reaching somewhat rocky, dry terrain near Franssagielas. Next, you must fording the Jovnnajohka, and on the other side, the trail heads south through a wetland with poor markings. Climb up to Skaiddemohoaivi and descend again to a stream that is easy to cross. You then approach the Skaidielva.
You cross a power line. This description does not go any further, because the author spent the night in an open hut located about 3.5 km along the power line at Lake Vuolit Goadehisjavri. When traveling from or to this hut in a southerly direction, it is advisable not to go through the wetlands west of the lakes, but rather east of the large lake Skaiddejavri to the Duolbajarcopma area. There is also an open hut at the eastern end of Lake Skaiddejavri.
If you continue along the E1 path next to the power line instead, you’ll find about 10 kilometers of dry, easy-to-walk trail. It only gets more difficult again toward the end. First, you have to cross the Skaidielva, for which you’ll need wading boots. You can keep them on right away, as there’s a very large but well-marked marsh area—marked by wooden stakes—leading to the Gadjariegadanjahka, which you’ll need to cross. There are campsites on the other side of the river.
The following brief directions are written from south to north:
Wet shoes are guaranteed! Immediately after crossing the river at the start of the stage, a long stretch of marshland begins. Note: Even before the river, the trail markers change from stones or fences to chest-high wooden posts with red tips. The route winds through this wetland for nearly an hour. It only gets drier after you’ve waded through the outlet of Lake Skaiddejavri. The trail runs nice and flat for a few kilometers across the wide green hills. The river comes back into view on the left, but the trail climbs a hill slightly to the right. After the descent, the markings are sometimes hard to find, as the DNT has painted them on small, thin young birch trees that are barely visible. In a wide S-curve, the trail runs along the eastern side of a beautiful valley before crossing it.
Now there are a few short climbs leading up to a beautiful lake, which, however, lies behind the ever-present fence. A little later, you descend into wooded terrain for the first time in a while. The rest of the route toward the E6 is well marked and mostly easy to follow. The E1 turns left here and follows a forest path for 2.5 km until it reaches the road via a gravel path at the end.
