Stage description

The two DNT huts are located relatively close to each other here, so you can take a short break here if needed. First, you must reach the western end of Golddajávri. You can cross its tributary via a sturdy bridge. On the other side, a birch forest begins, and the trail climbs fairly steeply through it. At the end of the climb, you’ll find yourself facing a bare plain with a great view back toward the lake. From here on, the trail is relatively easy to follow, though you’ll need to cross a small ravine at one point. This brings you fairly quickly to Gappohytta, which sits next to a small pond that’s unfortunately quite dirty and therefore unsuitable for swimming or collecting drinking water.
