Stage description

From Lappjordhytta, it’s just one kilometer to the Swedish border, with a steep descent along the way. The distinctive boundary marker is located on a small hill in a low-lying area. On the Swedish side, the trail winds constantly up and down through dense forest to Pålnostugan, right on the shores of Torneträsk. The cabin is free to use but is very spartanly furnished. In the summer of 2022, there was a large amount of building material stored here. Renovation may be planned for the near future.

    The E1 follows the Nordkalottruta / Nordkalottleden - except some smaller parts - from Kautokeino (E1 stages 01.16) close to Sulitjelma (E1-Etappen 07.08 / 08.01). The book describes the trail in detail from Kautokeino to Abisko and in shortform to an exit in Sulitjelma.
