Stage description

From Rostahytta, you have the option to end or interrupt the hike. To do so, follow the trail from the hut further downstream. If you continue on the E1, cross the Rostaelva at the bridge. The trail to Dærtahytta climbs steadily but not steeply. The lush greenery and colorful flowers become less frequent as the stage progresses, and the landscape’s color shifts back to a pale green-gray. At Áslatjohka, you’ll need to wade across a river once during this stage; otherwise, this stage is very easy to walk, with hardly any marshy areas. Shortly before the pass summit, you’ll reach a boulder field, which is technically easy, however. From here, you’re almost at Dærtahytta, which you’ll reach via a short, steep descent from the pass summit.
