Stage description

A fairly short hike through the barren mountain landscape. At least in gray weather, the route offers so little to see that hardly anything memorable sticks in the mind. From Vuomahytta, the trail first winds through a green valley dotted with several lakes, then the landscape grows increasingly barren, and at Aud Scahrte it passes through vast scree fields. At the end of the stage, the trail descends toward Stromskardet and the landscape becomes a bit greener again. Before reaching Gaskashytta, it is essential to follow the trails to reach the bridge over the river. Some maps show a river crossing further north, but it is nearly impossible to navigate.
