Stage description

From the Varaustupa, the trail heads south across a bridge spanning the Bierfejohka. Just beyond it, a trail branches off to the left toward the Autiotupa (open hut) at Meekonjärvi. The strikingly towering Saivaara mountain near the hut is one of the visual highlights of this otherwise rather monotonous stage. Since you are still on the Halti Route here, you should expect the huts to be full.
