Stage description

The stage begins at Raisjavrihytta and initially follows the lakeshore and reindeer fence to another locked cabin near the substation. The trail then crosses the Cieknaljohka River and continues southward along the ATV trail. There is a Sami settlement nearby, so there are many side paths along the route. Small signposts indicate the correct path to hikers at many points.

Eventually, the trail turns west, where the next river, the Njargajohka, must be forded. The landscape gradually shifts from sparse birch forest to heathland as the trail climbs steadily uphill. Time and again, marshy sections must be crossed.

Toward the end of the stage, the trail finally heads downhill again into Reisadalen, with some very steep sections and the trail running quite close to the slope. The final few kilometers here are definitely quite challenging.

About 3 kilometers before Nedrefosshytta, we recommend taking a detour to the impressive Imofossen. A new signpost on the E1 marks the turnoff; from there, the trail is moderately but adequately marked, and the round trip takes about 1 hour.
