Hikers coming from the Gautelishütte who reach the western junction with the trail leading to the Cáihnavággihytta can look forward to a descent and less rocky terrain. The junction is marked with a post, and the corresponding signs are lying on the ground. In addition, stones have been inscribed with directional information.
The trail leads to the dams of Gautelisvatnet. First, you cross the small dam, even though there is a bridge just a few meters away. The trail markers point across the dam, while the hiking map indicates the route over the bridge. You then reach the large dam via a rather poorly maintained farm road. Here, the path becomes a proper road, which you follow for a while until you reach the signpost indicating the trail to Skoaddejávrehytta, which branches off to the left of the road.
From here, the trail climbs steadily (but never steeply) for a long stretch toward Juovvačorru, the plateau where today’s destination is located. The trail passes Øvre Kjørrisvatnet, offering a spectacular view of the imposing mountains to the west. Further up on the plateau, the terrain becomes rockier again and snowfields are to be expected. Finally, you reach the cozy Skoaddejávrehytta, located at an altitude of 1,000 meters.
