Stage description

From the Vaisaluokta Hut, the trail first runs for just under 2 km through the Sami settlement to the bridge over the Guossjájåhka. Just past the bridge is a junction; here, the E1 branches off to the right, heading uphill toward Kutjaurestugan. Continuing straight ahead would take you to Akkastugorna.

The trail is frequently crossed by paths leading to Sami huts, but if you follow the red markers, you’ll find your way out of the village through the tangle of tracks. After a strenuous climb, you’ll finally reach the edge of the birch forest and the start of the fell. From here, you’ll once again have a great view of Lake Akkajaure.

After 10 km, you’ll reach another emergency shelter at Kårsåjaure. Before the descent to Kutjaure, there are two more bridges; there’s an excellent campsite at the second bridge. From there, the trail heads downhill to Sieberjåhka, where the Kutjaurestugan is located.
