Stage description

This stage takes you through the Tiveden Nature Reserve. It isn’t particularly large, but it’s quite a challenge. Scree and boulders, fallen trees, and rugged trails. Caves, crevices, and pools. In short: a primeval forest. Fallen trees are left lying where they are and sometimes block the path. Progress is arduous, and the 12-kilometer stage is a real challenge. That’s all you can manage on this day.

Some boulders look like faces. That is why Tiveden is also called Troll Forest.

This is the first/last stage of the long Bergladsleden trail, which winds through forested areas for 280 km.
