Stage description

On this stage, there is a discrepancy between the DNT’s route description and the DNT’s GPS track. The latter follows the same route as our track, which is primarily based on OpenStreetMap.

The route described in the DNT PDF leads to the northern end of Lake Nersjøen, where you are supposed to cross a dam. However, this dam is extremely narrow and cannot be crossed—at least during the snowmelt—because it is flooded. In addition, the route over the pass near Nersjøskarven described in the text is likely treacherous in places. You can find a firsthand account on Andrea and Ole’s blog.

I don’t yet have any feedback on the route shown in the GPS track, which, according to the map, doesn’t go over the dam but instead crosses a bridge at the northern end of Busjøen. This route is likely the easier one to walk, especially during the snowmelt season. Feedback on this stage is very welcome!
